This artwork is currently hosted by the Stephen Bulger Gallery, in Toronto. Here’s what Szilasi has to say about this specific photograph:

About the artist:

Over the last 50 years, Gabor Szilasi has created one of Canada’s most significant and influential bodies of photographic work, comprising environmental portraits, domestic and urban views of Montreal and Budapest, and images of rural Quebec. His photographs have been sustained by an unwavering belief in the humanistic and documentary value of the medium. (Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography)

From October 9, 2009 to January 17, 2010, the CMCP held an exhibition about Gabor Szilasi’s work: “The Eloquence Of The Everyday”. For the occasion, they produced a rich catalogue:

This comprehensive publication contains a study of the artist, a catalogue of the works in the exhibition, and an exhaustive biography that explores the different private and professional facets of Szilasi’s life. (National Gallery of Canada)

More info about Canadian photographer Gabor Szilasi can be found over at the Concordia University’s Art History Department (but the info haven’t been updated since 1999). More of his photographs are exhibited online over at Art45 gallery website.
